This is what a kitchen should look like.

A kitchen is a utility room. I think the trend of the kitchen as a glamourous open concept entertainment center is a bit like turning the bathroom into spa. How many spas have you been to where there's a toilet in plain sight? How many party rooms have a pile of dirty dishes in them? I'm all for closing off the kitchen. and i'm all for having the john in a separate room next to the bathroom that only contains a bath and a sink. I think if i were an architect, i wouldn't so much be inventing new strategies for building as using the best of the past, as a lot of cool stuff already came into being. and ever since people designed houses without front porches, and open concept kitchens and taking over a bedroom to make a toilet gymnasium, things have been looking weirder.
